Independent Study Guidelines

The M.S. in Artificial Intelligence Systems (MS AIS) program allows students to earn up to three (3) elective credit hours through an independent study, subject to the following conditions:

• The independent study must focus on an advanced AI Systems topic not covered in regularly offered courses and be directly aligned with your academic interests.
• You must enroll in the designated independent study course under faculty supervision and obtain approval from the program coordinator prior to beginning the study.
• A maximum of three (3) elective credit hours may be applied toward your degree requirements.

Refer to the course syllabus for expectations regarding scope of work, deliverables, time commitment, and evaluation criteria for the independent study. Once you have identified a faculty supervisor willing to mentor you, email the academic advisor to initiate the necessary approval and course registration.
